Letter from the Principal: February 24, 2020

Dear Oaks Elementary Parents,

I want to inform you of an unusual incident today. At about 3:20 p.m., a teacher was escorting walkers to their release point at Oak Briar and Ancient Oaks. The teacher noticed a man sitting at the edge of the school property. She walked toward him and he ran away. The teacher lingered and was watching the children walk down the street when the man came out from behind two houses and began following students.

The teacher called the school, and someone came immediately in a car. They followed the man as he followed the students. As the children moved more quickly, the man stayed right behind them. The teachers pulled up next to the students, and the man left. To assure that they arrived home safely, the teacher got out of the car and walked the boys to their doorstep as the other staff member followed in the car.

The man is described as in his 30’s, having darkly tanned skin with dark hair that is short on the sides and longer on top. He was wearing blue jeans and a gray shirt, with a black cross-body bag. If you have information on this man, or see him in the neighborhood, please call Humble ISD Police at 281-641-7900.

This incident was reported to Humble ISD Police, who will increase their patrol of the area near the school at dismissal time tomorrow.
