• The Humble English Language Development program is designed to assist English language learners to gain the basic skills of comprehending, speaking, reading, and writing of the English language. The goal of the ESL and Bilingual programs is the same, for the students to experience academic success while learning English, although the difference is that in Bilingual education (PK-5) students are taught academic concepts with primary language support, and in ESL/BE (PK-12) the instruction is in English using second language methodologies. 

    It is fundamental to the program to instill confidence, self-assurance, and a positive identity with the students' cultural heritages. In an ESL program, a cooperative effort between the content area and ESL teacher facilitates the progress to independent functioning in the general education program addressing the student’s linguistic, affective and cognitive needs. In the Bilingual program, the student's classroom teacher in grades PK - 5, as a member of the general education community, works with the campus to meet the needs of his/her students.

    El Programa Desarrollo del Idioma Inglés del distrito de Humble está diseñado para ayudar a los estudiantes del idioma ingles a adquirir las habilidades básicas de comprensión, expresión oral, lectura y escritura del idioma inglés. La meta de los programas ESL y Bilingüe es la misma, para que los estudiantes experimenten éxito académico mientras aprenden inglés, aunque la diferencia es que en la educación  Bilingüe (PK-5) a los estudiantes se les enseña conceptos académicos con el apoyo de su primer idioma y en ESL/BE (PK-12) la instrucción es en inglés usando metodologías del segundo idioma.

    Es fundamental para el programa infundir confianza, seguridad en sí mismo y una identidad positiva con el patrimonio cultural de los estudiantes. Un esfuerzo cooperativo entre el área de contenido y el/la maestro/a de ESL  facilita el progreso del funcionamiento independiente en el programa general de educación frente a las necesidades lingüísticas, afectivas y cognoscitivas del estudiante.
