Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year!! I am really looking forward to a great year and am excited to see all of our returning students. I hope to meet some new faces as well this year! This will be my 9th year teaching at The Oaks as a special education teacher. Before that I was a special education teacher at the secondary level. This will be my fourteenth year of teaching and I can't wait to get started! I am a graduate of The University of Kansas and am married with one son who will be attending The Oaks as a 4th grader this year!
Students who will be in resource reading with me will be using the Leveled Literacy Intervention Program as well as the Comprehension Strategies Kit. We pull from both of these resources based on the students individual needs and their IEP goals and objectives. I have used both of these intervention programs for several years and have seen great reading progress in my students. Lesson plans for each student is based on their IEP. Feel free to schedule a conference with me if you have any questions about your student. IEP updates are sent home every nine weeks with the report cards. You can also receive these digitally and more information about that will be discussed in the student's ARD meeting.
