Kristi Augustine, M. Ed.
Lead Reading Instructional Coach, PK-5
A Bit About Me:
My name is Kristi Augustine, and I currently serve as the Lead Reading Instructional Coach for PreK - 5th grades. I came to River Pines in 2021 and absolutely fell in love with my Treefrog family. Last year was my first year as a literacy coach, and I am very proud of the success our campus had. Our campus has been recognized as the campus with the greatest student growth regarding STAAR scores in Humble ISD for the 2021-2022 school year! What a blessing it has been to roll up my sleeves and work alongside such dedicated professionals and incredible students. These Treefrogs have my whole heart, and I TRULY BELIEVE these kids (and teachers) are capable of anything they put their minds to.
Before coming to River Pines, I taught at Goose Creek CISD and Huffman ISD as a self-contained classroom teacher. I was honored to be a Neuhaus district liaison and Lead Teacher for Huffman ISD, which kick-started my interest in working with adult learners. I have also worked as a private tutor and have been elected to various Boards of Directors for parochial schools. I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction, Literacy Studies and from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies. In addition, I am a Texas Certified Reading Specialist for Early Childhood through 12th grade and hold a Texas Certification for English as a Second Language for Early Childhood through 12th grade.
Empowering children is my passion! I have 3 core beliefs that I stay true to and let guide me in all that I do.
1. I believe all children have a RIGHT to learn!
2. I believe all children CAN learn!
3. I believe it is MY JOB to ensure it becomes a reality!
