I have been an educator for thirty-one years. I love children, and I am very passionate about their being immersed in an educational environment that is fun, challenging, collaborative, and warm.
I began my educational career in Louisiana, where I taught Secondary English for ten years. In the spring of 2000, my family and I moved to the great state of Texas, and I have never regretted that decision. Texas is now my home of twenty-two years!
I obtained my elementary certification in 2004 and became a Kindergarten teacher at Woodland Hills Elementary in Kingwood. It was the craziest, most rewarding thing I have ever done, but I found out that the elementary setting is truly where I belong! From 2006-2010, I worked as an Instructional Technologist where I gained valuable experience serving children K-5 while also enriching teacher knowledge in the integration of technology in instruction. It was also during this time that I completed my Graduate degree in 2010 from Lamar University with a Masters in School Administration.
From 2010-2012, I was the Assistant Principal of Atascocita Springs Elementary School in the community of Eagle Springs, but I detoured into the private sector after my tenure there to pursue another administrative opportunity over a program that involved building, maintaining, and enriching the experience and education of children, nursery aged through fifth grade. In August of 2022, I re-entered Humble ISD as a Kindergarten teacher at Bear Branch Elementary School in Kingwood, and I was so happy to arrive back home in public education. During the last year, my desire to be an administrator with the ability to impact more children and adults was rekindled; thus, I am excited to be back in the saddle in Humble ISD as an Assistant Principal and to serve the students, staff, and community of Centennial Elementary. Let’s go, Bulldogs!
