My name is D'Andre Lacy, and I am a proud alumnus of the prestigious Texas Southern University (Houston, Texas). Having worked as an Houston ISD Apollo Fellow, 6th grade math teacher at Yes Prep North Forest, AVID Tutor as a high school student, and also having volunteered in many other capacities with children from a variety of ages, I bring over 4 years of experience in education. As a graduate of Atascocita High School and member of True Love Christian Church in Humble, Texas (40 Wilson Rd), I have strong ties to this city and the surrounding areas. I am committed to contributing to the development and advancement of my students, their families, and this community.
Although this is my first year at Ross Sterling, it was a priority of mine to begin to build my influence on this campus immediately. I am in charge of the Science Club offered through C.A.S.E. For Kids Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 4:10-6:00 pm, and I also support our 2019-2020 Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Hill, with her Boss Boys mentoring program offered on Thursdays from 4:05-5:00 pm. Our future is dependent upon the investment we deposit into our youth.
My passion for this community is derived from my core value of family. I am the proud to say I am a husband of four years to my beautiful bride, Shickerra, and enjoy traveling the world with her by my side. As previously stated, I am a member of True Love Christian Church and also serve as the Youth Minister there. I think of myself as a lifelong learner and I am currently attending Lamar University as a graduate student to pursue my Master's of Education in Educational Leadership.
I look forward to having an amazing year with your students. Feel free to reach out to me using the contact information above and follow me on Instagram and Twitter.
