Guadalupe Garza began his career as a paraprofessional in 1988 with Houston ISD and in 1992 he joined the Houston ISD Police Department. His roles included campus and patrol officer, gang investigator, police chaplain, training division sergeant and patrol sergeant. In 2008 he took a position as a criminal justice instructor with Goose Creek CISD and then became the Director of Security. He then developed the first ever police department agency for the school district and served as the Chief of Police.
Guadalupe holds a Bachelors Degree from Midwestern State University and is TCOLE certified as a Master Peace Officer, Field Training Officer, Police Instructor, Stop the Bleed Instructor and is also certified in Crisis Intervention, Crime Prevention through Environmental Design and Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response.
He is also a graduate of the Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas-Leadership Command College from Sam Houston State University and an FBI LEEDA trilogy graduate from the FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development Association. He has been involved in many civic and community organizations and events such as: National Night Out, Houston East End Chamber of Commerce Police Association, Texas School District Police Chiefs Association, Baytown Christmas parade, San Jacinto Hospital Volunteer Chaplain, Salute to Law Enforcement day, Houston Hispanic Career and Education forum, and a guest speaker for the Texas School Safety Center to name a few. He is also the founder of Watch 360 Ministries, a non-profit organization whose mission is to assist other non-profit organizations and first responders in the areas of risk management, emotional and spiritual care support.
