"Dust yourself off. Greatness awaits!" ~ Unknown!

My name is Amanda Price. I am the Dyslexia Specialist at TE. This is my sixteenth year in education. I was born and raised in Livingston, Texas and moved to the Humble area in 2017! I have been married for 14 years to my best friend who is also a Texas native. We have 8 children, 7 grandchildren, and 3 poodles.

I graduated college at SFA with a Bachelors of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and Lamar University with a Masters of Education in Educational Technology Leadership. I am currently pursuing a M.Ed in School Counseling through Lamar University.

My favorite thing to do is spend time with my family, read my bible, and relax at the Bay with my poodles! I enjoy every part of my job and can't wait to learn more about YOU!

In May 2021, I was awarded funds from The Humble ISD Education Foundation grant I wrote in February 2021 “Wag Away Worries.”  This grant proposal includes the addition of a four-legged comfort dog to our school. This project will be instrumental in encouraging the emotional well-being of at-risk students, increase students’ confidence, working on self-management skills, decrease stress, eliminate test anxiety, and promote social interaction, while building relationships to create positive connections with peers and adults.

Dottie is in a very comprehensive training to become an AKC Certified Comfort Dog through the amazing Let's Go! Positive Reinforcement Dog Training, LLC.  We anticipate her starting on campus training by November 2021. Dottie is a 6 month old Standard Poodle.  She was sponsored to us from Standard Poodle Puppies of Baytown at 8 weeks old.

While she is on campus, Dottie will have a specific role to play.  She will be under my care only.  Dottie is an extremely sweet dog who shows zero aggression towards others.  The students will have special opportunities to read to her and other positive interactions.

Timbers Elementary is one of many schools in the Humble ISD school district who have the incredible opportunity for comfort dogs through grants funded by The Humble ISD Education Foundation.
