What is Gifted? Identification and Characteristics
All children have strengths, skills, talents,
and abilities that will allow each to be a
successful, accomplished member of
society, but not all children are gifted.

At Ross Sterling Middle School, teachers provide gifted and talented services to identified students through Pre-AP courses in the four content areas: RELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.
Any student in grades 6-8 may be referred for the Gifted/Talented (G/T) program beginning in early fall of 2021. Dates will be announced as soon as they are made available. Parents or teachers may refer students for testing. If you would like to refer your child you must complete the Gifted and Talented Online Referral Form.
Students are eligible to test for the Gifted/Talented program after the online referral is completed. All testing will take place on our campus during a window between October-November 2021. The Building Selection Committee will determine placement in the G/T program by February 2022, with services to begin August 2023.
