The Command Staff of the Humble ISD Police Department has been closely monitoring updates from the CDC as well as state and municipal governments. Many states currently have restrictions on assemblies and several agencies are canceling non-essential travel. Intermediate Core Course covering all aspects of crime scene search and techniques, evidence recovery, latent print recovery, DNA, securing the crime scene, and some photography techniques. Students will be required to participate in hands-on instruction for credit in this class.

De-Escalations #1849
CLASS DATE(S):TUESDAY 11/15/2022 (8:00 AM-5 PM)
In 2017, the Texas Legislature passed SB 1849, also called the Sandra Bland Act. Effective April 1, 2018, the new law requires new officers and any officer with only a basic proficiency certificate to complete 8-hours of TCOLE approved de-escalation training every 48-months. This class is also required for officers who wish to obtain either an Intermediate or Advanced certificate. To be exempt from this class, you must hold a Master Peace Officer Certificate.

Canine Encounter #4065
CLASS DATE(S):WEDNESDAY 11/16/2022 (8:00 AM-12 PM)
This four (4) hour class is a new TCOLE CORE COURSE for all Basic and Intermediate Peace Officers. The course covers Animal Cruelty, Dangerous Dogs, Aggressive Animal Attacks, and Canine Behavior.

Interacting with Deaf and Hard of Hearing Drivers #7887

This course is mandated by TCOLE for officers which currently hold a Basic Certification. This course covers Interacting with Drivers who are deaf or Hard of Hearing.

Legislatively Required Continuing Education for Licensees. (a) Individuals appointed as peace officers shall complete at least 40 hours of continuing education training and must complete a training and education program that covers recent changes to the laws of this state and of the United States pertaining to peace officers every 24-month unit of a training cycle.
