Welcome! My name is Helen Reed, and this is my 14th year teaching early education.

I am a 2009 graduate of Sam Houston State University with a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies specializing in early childhood education. I taught kindergarten for five years, first grade for five years and this will be my fourth year teaching second grade. I transferred from Greentree Elementary to Eagle Springs during the summer of 2021. I am so excited about being an Eagle and helping my students SOAR to success.
I feel it is so important for me to REALLY know your child in order to help them reach their goals and potential. I believe it takes a partnership between the parents and the teacher! Communication is the KEY to success. I want this to be a comfortable environment for you and your child and I want them to leave my classroom with the LOVE OF LEARNING AND THE LOVE OF SCHOOL!! As our district mission statement, we are in a partnership with families and the community, to develop each child intellectually, artistically, emotionally, physically, and socially so that all students are life long learners, complex thinkers, responsible global citizens and effective communicators. I TRULY BELIEVE THIS STATEMENT AND WILL MAKE THIS VISION POSSIBLE!
Now, to my whole world... I have an amazing husband, Rodney Reed, who is the assistant chief of Harris County Fire Marshals Office. We have two beautiful children. My daughter Aubree is eight and will be starting third grade this year.  I also have a three-year old son, Reece Reed. They make living in this crazy world so worth it! I am sure there will be lots of stories about Aubree and Reece throughout the year. I look forward to learning all about your families!
