Getting to Know Me!
I am so excited about beginning this school year, because it is my first year as a teacher! I graduated from the University of Houston in May of 2022 with my Bachelors of Science Degree as a Teaching and Learning Major with a Texas Teaching Certification. Throughout my program at the University of Houston, I was enrolled in a rigorous, year-long internship as a Student Teacher for Humble ISD. I student taught 4th grade RELA/Social Studies at Ridge Creek Elementary for one semester, and 3rd grade Math/Science here at Lakeland Elementary for my final semester. This is a huge reason I am so excited to now call Lakeland Elementary my home campus!
A little about me: I just recently got married in March 2022 to my amazing husband and we are loving parents to our son, Theo (he's a Siamese cat lol)! I have attended schools here in Humble ISD since I was in the 3rd grade, and I graduated from Summer Creek High School in 2017. I am Humble ISD grown and am truly happy to have been given the opportunity to begin my teaching career here.
I remember second grade being my favorite grade year, and I hope to make it my students' favorite grade year as well! Our classroom is going to be filled with lessons that are engaging and fun, because I believe that enjoying learning is the key to a successful education! However, we will learn how to have fun while also enforcing our campus's schoolwide expectations: being respectful, being responsible, and being safe. These expectations are MOST important.
With all of that being said, I am looking forward to a great school year and getting to meet all of my students!! See you soon!
